The Government of Montenegro has adopted the Decision on Determining the Annual Number of Permits for Temporary Residence and Work of Foreigners for 2024.
This decision determines the annual number of permits for temporary residence and work of foreigners for the year 2024, as well as the activities in which foreigners can be employed.
The annual quota for 2024 is set at a total of 28,988 permits.
From the annual quota referred to in paragraph 1 of this article, 5,000 permits are allocated, which the state administration authority responsible for labor matters can further distribute for specific purposes, in accordance with labor market needs, at the request of the Employment Agency of Montenegro.
From the annual quota referred to in Article 2, paragraph 1 of this decision, 23,988 permits are allocated as follows:
- Employment of foreigners – 21,727 permits;
- Seasonal employment of foreigners – 2,261 permits.
This decision was published in the “Official Gazette of Montenegro” no. 121/23 dated December 29, 2023, and comes into force on the date of publication. It will be applied starting from January 1, 2024.
